Hi Bertrand,
we are currently part of the iNSPiRe project which is developing energy-efficient renovation packages. As part of this project we set up an interest group for public procurers to discuss and follow the project here in the Procurement Forum: https://procurement-forum.eu/group/77852/sustainable-construction-interest-group
This might also be a nice example to mention in your presentation during the conference.

Hi Bertrand, we will promote this through our channels. Mark
The problems caused by modern consumption and production patters do not stop at Europe's borders. In many parts of the world, countries and regions are challenged to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger, improve health standards and generally increase quality of life standards. Simultaneously the level of resources needed by their economies has to be kept in check with ecosystem capacity.

Congratulations Carla and colleagues on contracting these companies and institutes! I am particularly intrigued by Rita, from the University of Groningen. Rita will be a robot, alas, but with special abilities: "RITA can bring drinks, medicine, carry food and other items and find a pair of glasses". I hope this PCP project will soon deliver results and might be able to help me now and then with retrieving my glasses.
At the Procurement Forum we know that our members are busy people that receive many e-mails each day. That's why we have added the possibility to customise how often you get recaps of whats being discussed. You can now choose to receive them every day, every three days or once a week.
Its also very quick and easy to do. Just log in to the Procurement Forum and follow these three steps:
Rotterdam’s transport operator (RET) has never done pilots or research into sustainable "normal" batteries. It has focused mainly on clean (full) vehicles, fuels and reducing fuel consumption in vehicles. RET state that there are quite strict agreements with suppliers of vehicles, so even if there would be an environmentally friendly battery on the market then RET as a carrier cannot just install it. If you do this, it has consequences for the entire vehicle warranty.

Cornwall Council spent £480 Million during financial year 2011/12 as a Unitary Authority with 10,564 suppliers. For this public authority, responsible procurement means pioneering socially, environmentally and economically responsible procurement to deliver improved quality of life and better value for money for people and businesses.
This week's Resource of the Week is Cornwall Council's Corporate Responsible Procurement and Commissioning Policy.

The first PRO-LITE newsletter is now available on the new website (http://www.prolitepartnership.eu/ - which is best viewed using an up-to-date web browser).
Thanks for sharing that Nick and for uploading it also to the Resource Centre. It makes a very strong case for innovative procurement.
What I state is indeed only for primary forests or very old growth secondary forests (harvested more than 50 years ago and left alone without human intervenence since then (these are quite scarce because in general. Harvesting attracts settlers and agriculture crops). I have no problem with sustainable management and sustainable harvesting of young secondary forests and plantations of all ages as long as no corruption is involved and primary forests aren't damaged because they are behind, near,...
GPP 2020 is a new EU-funded project that aims to mainstream low-carbon procurement across Europe. To this end, GPP 2020 will implement more than 100 low-carbon tenders, which will directly result in substantial COâ savings. Moreover, GPP 2020 is running a capacity building programme that includes trainings and exchange.

Hi Leon,
I cant speak specifically from a project perspective but we just featured a news article on this topic over on innovation-procurement.org. The French government is trying to take the bull by the horns and in its guidelines on purchasing innovation from earlier this year highlights the importance of PPI as a strategy to aid economic growth and prosperity. The guidelines offer practical support to public servants in acquiring PPI. The report is in French, but you can get it here: http...
Dear all,
thanks a lot for these very useful comments!
Best wishes,
Robert
This is a very well researched and detailed report. Thank you so much for the hard work that went into producing it. I can see how it will be very valuable. I'm going to share it around, for sure!

Thank you for kicking the discussion off Natalie, I think you capture some of the more pressing issues very well. I think your last point on the experiences of using clean vehicles is something which will really bring this piece of work to life. I have two thoughts on this:
1) When people provide information on vehicles and fuel types we have a clear division between experiences and facts. Some very valuable lessons can be learned from both and it is important to document both separately.
...Many members have been inquiring what it makes sense to post on the Forum. Let us give you a quick overview:

Starting a new phase is always daunting and filled with challenges. The same can be said of taking an existing, successful online community and migrating every member, file and conversation to a new system. But that is exactly what we have done and though we see that there is still work to do, we are happy that the Procurement Forum is moving in the right direction.
What has happened so far? All account and group information has been moved across and new groups have been created. New fea...
